Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India has organised Swachh Bharat Photo Contest where participants have to upload two photos of a place, one before cleanliness and one after cleanliness.

Contest open till 15th October 2014.

 

=>Prizes Of the Swachh Bharat Photo Contest:

1st Prize : Rs.10,000

2nd Prize : Rs.7,000

3rd Prize : Rs.5000

4th – 13th Prize:  Certificates of Appreciation

The concept of Swachh Bharat is to pave access for every person to sanitation facilities including toilets, solid and liquid waste disposal systems, village cleanliness and safe and adequate drinking water supply. We have to achieve this by 2019 as a befitting tribute to Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi on his 150th birth anniversary. For the purpose of Swachh Bharat Photo contest, please click photos depicting the ESSENCE of Swachh Bharat.

 

=>How to Apply for Swachh Bharat Photo Contest:

1. Participants may send their entries EITHER through the Digital platform (soft copy) OR by Post (hard copy).

2. (a)Digital Platform (soft copy):

                     1. Log on to www.dv.inbministry.in/photocontest
                     2. Register yourself and upload Photos

                                                               (Or)

Log on to www.dv.inbministry.in with your existing Facebook (or) Twitter (or) Google Plus (or) Digital Volunteer Login
Click on the Swachh Bharat banner on the right panel, and the photo upload screen will appear.

2. (b) By post (hard copy):

          1. The participants can also submit the photographs in hard copy in 8″x10″ size (20×25 cms).
          2. Participants have to send TWO photographs of the same place: (One before cleaning and one after the cleaning exercise undertaken.) A Participant can send a maximum number of 8 different photographs. The entry should not be mounted.
          3. Each Entry should carry the participant’s Name, Nationality, Postal Address, Telephone numbers, E-mail address on the back of the photographs in BLOCK LETTERS.
          4. The participants must send their entries along with a certificate that all photographs are work of original nature and taken by the participant himself/herself.
          5. Technical details such as Camera used, Exposure, Film, Lens, Focal Length, etc. should be sent along with the entry.
          6. The hard copies should be superscripted – “Swachh Bharat” National Photo Competition. They should be addressed to The Director, Photo Division, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Room No.710, Soochna Bhawan, C.G.O. Complex, Lodhi Road, New Delhi – 110003.
          7. A brief of the photograph and bio-data of the photographer not more than 200 words each should be attached with the entry.

 

=>Terms and Conditions of Swachh Bharat Photo Contest:

1. The contest is open to all citizens of the country except the employees of Photo Division and Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India.
2. There is no Registration Fee.
3. Registration opens on 25th Sept. 2014 and closes on 15th Oct. 2014. Entries received post deadline will not be entertained.
4. One contestant has to upload TWO photographs of the same place: One before cleaning and one after the cleaning exercise undertaken.
5. The images should be in colour.
6. The size of the image should not exceed 3 MB; the image should be in JPG/JPEG format.
7. Evaluation will be done on the basis of photos, synopsis, creativity and originality by an eminent jury selected by the Ministry.
8. No digital manipulation/tampering of original images will be accepted.
9. Details of time and location where picture is taken & a synopsis of the photograph are to be uploaded along with the photograph.
10. The participant must be the same person who has taken the photo and plagiarism would not be allowed.
11. The prize winning photographs will be the intellectual property of the Government of India and the submitter cannot exercise any right over it. The prize-winning photos are meant to be used by the Government of India for promotional and display purposes, IEC material and also for any other use as may be deemed appropriate for the Campaign for Swachh Bharat.
12. Please note that the photographs must be original and should not violate any provision of the Indian Copyright Act, 1957.
13. Ministry of Information & Broadcasting reserve all rights to amend the rules or to cancel the Swachh Bharat Photo contest at any point of time without prior intimation.
14. The Ministry does not take any type of financial commitment for the expense incurred by the participant in any form.
15. The decision of the Ministry will be final and binding to all participants and cannot be challenged. No communication will be entertained in this regard.
